Grupo Sistemas Logicos, the exclusive distributor of Ex Libris products in the Spanish-speaking countries of the Americas, is proud to announce that El Colegio de Mexico is the first institution to acquire the recently released SFX® eXpress subscription service. This fully hosted service spares customers the need to install and run a local server and to manage routine hardware, software, and knowledge-base updates. As a leading technology and service provider, Ex Libris has the experience and expertise to deliver and support this service transparently, by hosting and professionally managing the SFX server at a robust data center.
The library patrons at El Colegio de Mexico will benefit from the integration of all of its electronic resources via this remotely hosted service. Through SFX services, patrons will have access to selective full-text repositories such as JSTOR, aggregated databases such as those from H.W. Wilson, free journals such as those from the Directory of Open Access Journals, the schools local ALEPH 500™ OPAC, the librarys document-delivery services–Ingenta and the British Library–and Web search engines.
Micaela Chavez, director of the Daniel Cosio Villegas Library of El Colegio de Mexico said: “SFX will help our users navigate the wide range of electronic resources that we have contracted. Furthermore, SFX will facilitate the delivery of journal articles that are not available from our resources.”
